1. 最近在做什么项目(创作)？What are you working on recently?
A:个人创作是以动画和插画为主，因为独立动画制作时程很长，所以期间会画一些小插画或涂鸦上传到网络相簿，一方面分享进度作品，一方面也透过网络接触新的作品，刺激灵感。 Mainly are animation and illustration, because independent production took long time so I occasionally draw some illustration and graffiti and upload to my flickr, to share and to get some inspiration of other people’s works.
2.最近有哪些电影、杂志、书籍、唱片令你印象深刻？2. Is there any film, magazine, book or record which impresses you recently?
近期购入一些喜爱的插画、漫画家作品，像是香港插画家Stella So的「老少女日记」、智海的「The Writer And Her Story」、华裔绘本作家陈智勇的新书「别的国家都没有」等等。当代插画绘本作家与香港土制漫画系列的作品呈现出对人性和现代都市生活的面貌，在故事和画面中建构出充满寓意和诗性的世界，非常让我着迷，也对我自己在思考作品故事和风格上的影响很大。而最近最爱的专辑是台湾的乐团Nylas的专辑，充满童趣的编曲和吸引人的女声主唱，百听不厌，非常棒。 I just bought some comic and picture books, such as “Old ” Hong Kong illustrator“The Writer And Her Story “ by CHIHOI
3.最近发现了哪些特别有创意的事情？What’s the most creative thing that you discover lately?
A:我非常依赖网络，会从设计和艺术分享网站去发现别人的创意，像是Booooooom ( www.booooooom.com)、Motionographer (motionographer.com)等等，都是我发现新世界的来源。 I rely on internet very much, enjoying discovering other’s creativity from design and art wrbsites, such as Booooooom ( www.booooooom.com), Motionographer (motionographer.com) and etc. they are my source for me to discover new world.
4.最近给你最大创作灵感的人、事、物分别是？ Whom and what inspire you the most recently?
A:在MTV台看到陈绮贞「手的预言」MV，导演刘耕名在短短两分钟的歌曲内以台湾插画家潘昀珈的插画制作动画，表现出每一句歌词的意境和内容，不但插画精致丰富，且动画运镜流畅成熟，是我近期看到非常棒的动画MV作品！当初看完以后非常感动，好的作品真的会让人见贤思齐，使人有想动起笔来一起创作的激动！ I saw Cheer Chen’s music video “Rebirth” on MTV, the director Liu genming collaborate with a Taiwanese animator Pan yungia, their cooperate so well and express the sentences and the atmosphere precisely, not only the animation is well-drawn but also finely execute the motion, very smooth and wonderful. It’s the best animated MV I have seed these days! I was so touched by this video that I want to grab a pencil and draw right away, good work can be really stimulative sometimes!
5.是否有新学会的生活或工作技能？5.Have you get to learn something new for life and work recently?
A:我更新了自己的Adobe等级，开始研究最新版本CS4的新功能，尤其是常用的Illustrator、AfterEffects等等。软件虽然只是工具，但是新加入或修正的功能往往也都能让创作时顺手好用，所以深深觉得更新一下新知还是有所必要的。 I update my adobe and start to research on the new function of the latest CS4, especially thos software such as Illustrator、AfterEffects and etc, even software is just a tool, but the new add-up would make the operation smoother, so I found it’s quite necessary to upgrade!
6.最近关注的专业和专业以外的话题有哪些？What kind of topics are you focusing in your profession recently and how about the other fields?
A:如何达成安静的、平和的创作状态。学生时创作只需要担心作品的内涵和质量，但如果把创作当成谋生的一部分，是否就会在不断的截稿与修改中来回拉扯，变成是对时间、经济和创作精神间的一种折磨和消耗？如何兼顾现实面和创作状态，尚未清楚答案的我，也只能透过跟周遭朋友的经验分享和不断的心理准备来作努力了。 How to achieve quiet and peaceful status. All I need to worry about when I was student is the quality and content, but if I want to earn my living through creation, would I trap between deadline and on-going modifications and turn out to be torture and consumption for time, money and mind? For me, it’s still un-clear, so I guess all I can do is to share with my friends and constantly prepare myself mentally…
7.最近的工作状态如何？能否简单描述一下你目前的工作状态？How’s your recent work status? Can you describe briefly about your current work status?
A:现在人在台湾服役当中，所以是利用晚上下班与休假时间整理作品和制作手边动画案的前制，因为时间零碎比较不能像以前全职学生时期时刻都在画图。不过这段时间也有点像个人休息的片刻，花比较多时间在构思作品和浏览他人作品，算是个人吸收充电的时候，七月后便能全职投入工作和创作，我很期待即将开始的新阶段。 I am in the military service in Taiwan, which means I can’t draw as full time student cos my time become fragmented, so i was sorting my previous works and do some preparation for a animation project. However, the present moment for me is like a break so I spend more of my time in creating and observing other people’s works, you can say that I am recharging right now. Am really looking forward to going back to work and creation, the new stage of my life.
8.近期有什么样令你感到最开心的事？Is there anything that makes you happy recently?
A:去年完成了一只2D计算机手绘动画《「我说啊，」我说。》，在一些影展中有放映的机会，像是今年三月在香港Ifva独立短片与录像比赛中入围，六月份将会在法国安锡动画影展(Annecy)参展及2009台北电影节放映。我很珍惜也很重视每一次动画参与影展的机会，不只是开心作品有曝光的机会，也是对个人很大的鼓励。 The 2D animation short which I finished last year got a chance to be screened in several film festivals and was nominated in HongKong ifva this march and was selected by Annecy festival and 2009 Taipei Film Festival. I appreciate every opportunity to participate film festival, not only happy for a exposure chance of my work but also a huge encouragement for myself.
9.近阶段有什么样的工作计划？What’s your current project?
A:工作上到年底前承接了一件电影中动画片段的制作案，目前主要都在花时间构思制作和准备前制部份。 I got a commissioned case which is making animation segment for a movie, I spend most of my time in planning and preparation for pre-production.
10.目前全球性的经济危机对你的工作和生活有什么样的影响和改变？10.Has the global economic recession affected your work and life, if so, what are the impact and changes?
A:也许因为目前还没有正式以动画或插画接案做为谋生工具，所以对于市场变动上没有很具体的感觉，不过还是经常听到周遭以创作为职的朋友同学的工作和经济压力变大，所以对我来说，应该是在精神上的压力比实质上来得大。希望我能从中找到自己的定位和平衡才是，这也是对自我的期许。
Not felt anything concrete about economic recession, maybe it’s because I am not officially earning my living by animation making or commissioned illustrations, but still heard from my friends who were doing creative jobs that they got more financial pressure than before. To me, I got more mental stress than actual financial pressure. I hope I can soon locate myself and find the balance, It’s also the expectation for myself.
