If you are a genius, then you can just let your intuition guide your passion. Definitely, you will lead a wonderful life and the life I envied just like Lauda envied Hunt.
For me, I’m also the kind of person as Hunt, but I’m just an quite ordinary person far far less than a genius. I’m trapped. The only way is to find my passion through discipline. The discipline to my major, to the everyday life, to manage time and to make plans lead my way to what I’m and what I’m on fire for. Through the interaction with people surrounding me, I have lost myself. Only the roles in society are left. My ambition lies in defining myself by myself alone. What if the society do not require you to take a role and give you complete freedom. What is you and how will you spend your life. That’s my ultimate goal. Fuck off everything.
Strong emotions let you feel who you are. I feel myself so real in these kind of climax, exhilaration, even in misery.
However, everyone has his or her own personality type. Like Lauda, we can’t critically say he has not led the life to the fullest. Whether leading life to the fullest depends what on earth your personality are. Lauda just took a glance at Hunt’s life and found a fleeting excitement and beauty. But he can just appreciate that kind of life rather than leading a life like that. So the key is to find what defines you and live your life to the fullest to content of the definitions. Turning back to myself, disciplines is contained in passion. That’s me, disciplined and passionate. My time is limited, and I just want to make full use of time to find lost self and really gain a understanding of myself. Being open to all of the stimuli leads the highest priority.
