i do love the fact that it encompass different themes, different genres and different culture togther. The juxtoption of american pop culture, russian indigious group ritual and modern technology infuessed adolensnce, all comes toghter present us a unique and fresh takes on what it takes to grow as a boy in such isolated, remote, and detached tundra.

The shallow deepth of field and that blury matt effect also helped to create this dreamy wonderland. To us, that cold, ridged inhabted swoland appears more as a paradise away from the crowd rather than the bleakness that filmaker is trying to convoy.

On the topic of boyhood, i have to admit that i see so much of myself in the protagnist, Chaseing after that vague fleeing nonexisting string of affection. Isnt thats what marks a boy as a man. The fact that the very motivation for the protagnirst to learn english is to express himself in front of his crash, we all been there havent we.

And the music in this movie has no business to be this good. perfect summer vibe.

All in all, a great film to put oneself into the shoes of a chishoka boy.
