First,this is a mothernal family.Their magic from their grandma.And granddaughters'gift are wonderful,for example the second sister of heroine has very strong power and doesn't look like the traditional aesthetics.
The eldest sister of heroine is a traditionally perfect girl.But she is not happy to be Miss perfect.Finally she finds herself,no longer elegant but happy.
Next point is disadvantage,because of no grandpa,the grandma is actually an assertive Father's role of the family.The most point I can't stand it that the grandma always pray to her husband's soul.Maybe she believes that the magic has something to do with him,hehe.In the ending,she said to heroine"i prayed to your grandfather,then he took you here"(general idea).Everything is none of his business!He just lives in memory even have no word!
I think it's a old problem of storys between mother and daughter.Such as <Everything Everywhere All at Once> and <Turning Red>.Why is it that women always do everything and the man always gets the credit in the end?I'm so angry about it.
All in all,the first half is commendable, but the grandma's word in the end just likes a fly at the bottom of a plate.
