Plot Summary:To find proper husbands for two marriageable daughters is a hard proposition to confront any father. But when one of them happens to be extremely fat, then indeed, it is a very serious task. Yet such was the dilemma that Judge Findem had to face, for his elder daughter, Tiny, the fat duckling, always found herself to be amongst those also present. Ethel, the younger daughter, was Tiny's exact antithesis and had the local swains all out of breath in pursuing her. To settle Tiny's future, the Judge finally inserts a personal advertisement in the local papers, offering to settle a substantial dowry to anyone who would marry her. This ad attracts the attention of Jabbs, the town sport, who is in financial distress, and also of Pokes, the village loafer, who must find a wife before he can secure employment. Both Pokes and Jabbs call upon Tiny at different times, only to desert her once they happen to see the pretty sister Ethel. Unknown to each other, Pokes and Jabbs scheme to kidnap Ethel and engage two different pairs of thugs to carry out their instructions. However, as the thugs have never seen Ethel, the plans miscarry, Jabbs' thugs carrying off the mother. While Pokes' pair abduct Tiny. The thugs carry their respective victims to the Judge's office, where Pokes and Jabbs are anxiously awaiting the girl. Great is their consternation when instead of the girl of their dreams, they find Tiny and her irate mother confronting them when the thugs remove the coverings. The Judge determined, however, to force somebody to marry Tiny, now that he has a chance, tries to force either Pokes or Jabbs to become her husband. Pokes and Jabbs, however, manage to escape and the desperate father succeeds only in marrying Tiny to one of the thugs who kidnapped her. Pokes and Jabbs make haste back to the Judge's residence to capture Ethel, but after their hard run, arrive on the scene in time to find Ethel content in the arms of her sweetheart, Roy.
