Plot Summary:You hold in your hands the inside story of he 2001 Mallory and Irvine Research Expedition. Follow expedition leader Eric Simonson and the rest of the team as they try to solve the mystery of the 1924 disappearance of the duo that may have summitted Everest first: George Mallory and Sandy Irvine. Looking for on thing but finding another, this team encountered five stranded climbers who had spent the night exposed on Mount Everest's frigid north ridge, above 28,500 feet. Over the course of one long, dramatic day, Tap Richards, Dave Han and Jason Tanguay saved four lives in the second highest rescue in history.
