Plot Summary:When the formerly wealthy Thorncroft family falls upon hard times, their only remaining asset is their prestigious name. Marjory, the daughter of the family, takes up the burden of managing the affairs of her impractical poet father and those of Lawrence, her struggling musician brother. To earn money, Marjory rents an apartment on their estate to millionaire Westerner David Lawrence who falls in love with her. Rejected by her suitor, Dallas Henley, Marjory accepts a marriage proposal from the man she considers a crude Westerner. After the marriage, David overhears Lawrence bemoaning his sister's sacrifice and decides to return West, but Marjory, faced with her husband's departure, realizes her love for him, and they face a happy future together.
