讲述一个充满忧虑的老人想拯救儿子苏哈，但他的努力无济于事。在目睹了儿子被处决后，老人带着他僵硬的尸体穿过山河，无奈地将其下葬。在这之后，疲惫的老人只得继续过着一成不变的生活，抚养孙子，并孤独地游荡在寂静的夜晚中……It's night and everything is happening in an endless silence. The lonely and tired old man is walking around. His restlessness proves how deeply he's been obsessed with his problems and agonies. He's thinking of saving his son, Sohrab. However, all doors are closed. He's involved in cycle of daily life, though decided, he's not able to change anything. He's fighting and then returning his grandson back home and baptizing him. In spite of all his efforts, the son is executed. He takes the body of his son, which looks like a white poplar tree, through the mountain and rivers and baptizes him.
