Plot Summary:The story centers around Dewey Winfield, a lovable loser, who wants nothing more than to beat the guy who has bullied him since childhood in a big fishing tournament. In order to come up with the tournament's entrance fee, Dewey takes a job watching over the eccentric characters at a run-down assisted living home. The seniors here have been living under an abusive caretaker and yearn for a chance to have some fun. The fun comes when Dewey offers to take them all fishing. However, he only makes the offer in order to impress Monica, a school counselor representing the adopt-a-senior program at the local elementary school. When Monica visits with little Billy, she mistakes Dewey for a caring, competent caregiver... Once on the boat, Dewey's true colors shine through - and Monica sees what a moron he really is.
