Plot Summary:When he turns 30 years old, the director decides to return to his hometown, which he abandoned at seventeen to study at the university in Kunming, breaking the tradition of a long line of peasants. Re-encountering friends, relatives, and his dear grandmother, he aims at reconnect his family ties with the environment of his training, often rediscovering a place that is subject to very different laws than in his own memories. In this long process of enhancing his view towards the subjective transformations that are also external, he heads in the direction of a new phase of maturity.
