Plot Summary:Hispanophone Ed arrives by boat from an unknown country to seek his fortune in a likewise unnamed town that looks like Maryland or one of the Carolinas. After shacking up with the fixer who facilitated his passage, and landing a job as mobile-home park caretaker, Ed proceeds to catch the eye of yet more ladies, including beautiful druggie Lola; her young daughter, Janet; and an elderly but rich curmudgeon.
