Plot Summary:John is in love with Jane Wright, to whom he has been betrothed since they were children. Then one day John is forced to serve as a seaman on a man-o-war. Jane is heartbroken over her lover's departure, and takes passage to France in the hope of finding him. The ship is attacked by the French and Jane is rescued by a French officer who takes her to his home. Later John finds her but she does not know him, as she has lost her memory in the fight. Then he takes her back to the scenes of her youth and the sight of them bring back her memory and all end happily.
