Plot Summary:Karl and Tom are long time friends; who meet each morning to play chess in the park. However, shortly after a chance meeting with a young man, Tom dies. In an attempt to avoid the grief of Tom's death, Karl rids himself of the Chess Set and cuts himself off from everything and everyone.
