Plot Summary:Having lost her husband in the First World War, a young nurse is torn between sailing overseas to contribute to the war effort or staying home to pursue a new love. The course of her entire life is altered, however, when she finds herself confronting the horror of the Halifax Explosion - the greatest man-made explosion in history prior to the atom bomb at Hiroshima.
